Our logo expresses our deep Christian commitment to one to one help.
Since we are all unique individuals, counselling means different things to different people. It can be about learning to face and deal with traumatic
experiences, changing or adjusting to difficult situations or experiencing personal growth and greater freedom and effectiveness. It is a purposeful
relationship in which one person helps another to help himself or herself. It is an activity of listening and responding which encourages the person to
explore her or his thoughts, feelings and behaviour to reach clearer self-understanding. These processes can enable people to find and use their
strengths so that they can more effectively manage their lives.
A Prayer For The Sevenoaks Christian Counselling Service...
Lord God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, thank you for the Sevenoaks Christian Counselling Service.
I pray for its clients that they will be helped towards healing and wholeness in their lives and relationships, for its counsellors for their development as
Christians and in the practice of their profession. May they grow in understanding insight, wisdom and any other skills and qualities that they might
need. I pray for the team in its administrative work and support of the counsellors. For the directors as they manage the service. For the SCCS in all
aspects of its work...
- counselling
- educational/training programmes
- being a support and resource
- for those in pastoral care
I offer these prayers in the name of Jesus the wonderful counsellor. Amen.
