THE DREAM COMES TRUE

It gives us great pleasure to report that the “Development Plan” is no longer merely something to read about. What was described as a project or aspiration is now a reality. During the summer months (2006) the work of the Counselling Service transferred to premises adjacent to Bessels Green Baptist Church and the building work began at The Bridge. The work was completed on time and in the autumn the SCCS opened its doors to clients at its newly refurbished and expanded accommodation.

The improved premises provide four counselling rooms on two levels – one has been enlarged, particularly for work with families, and two are brand new. There is a new reception and administration area with a separate waiting room on the ground floor and full access to all ground floor facilities for those with disabilities, including a specially adapted toilet. The first floor and ground floor are connected by means of an attractive internal spiral staircase, although it is still possible to access the first floor rooms by the original external iron stairs.
